WARREN, Ohio– Ultium Cells is pleased to announce that its annual Breast Cancer Awareness fundraiser has successfully raised $13,353 in support of the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center (JACBCC). The proceeds will go directly to Joanie’s Promise, a fund dedicated to ensuring that community members have access to high-quality diagnostic breast services, regardless of their ability to pay. Dr. Abdu, founder of JACBCC, visited the plant to accept the donation of behalf of the organization for the third consecutive year.
Throughout October, Ultium Cells employees engaged in a variety of fundraising activities, including the sale of t-shirts, hats, pins, and safety glasses, along with raffle sales for company-donated prizes. Additional efforts to raise awareness included hosting the Joanie Abdu Mobile Mammography Unit, which provided employees with convenient, on-site access to annual mammograms during the workday.
